About Lakeview Church

Lakeview Baptist Church enjoys providing opportunities for Internationals in the Auburn and Opelika, Alabama, areas. In fact, everyone you see serving Internationals through the opportunities provided by Lakeview does so without pay. From the English teachers to the van drivers to the Bible study teachers to the host families, all of these individuals are members of the church and provide the services to you without compensation.
Founded in 1959, Lakeview has now grown into a diverse congregation of more than 1,800 members. At Lakeview you will find people of all ages and socio-economic status. It is a multi-ethnic church with members of different races and ethnic groups.
Lakeview is committed to the historic principles of the Christian faith. When Jesus was asked by a skeptic “What is the greatest commandment?”, He answered, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." That commandment is what the staff and volunteers of the Internationals department at Lakeview, as well as the rest of the church, seek to do. Love for God and love for others motivates all that we do. If you have questions about what we believe, please ask!
